Bill,
A few of followup questions:
What is your application? What are you trying to achieve? Are you TXing on the same band as RX?
An example doppler file entry for IO-117 is below, but to work the bird you needed the soundmodem app, not WSJT-X. This is to work the same band as the TX/RX frequency on the bird was the same, just doppler shifted. IO-117,435309,435309,USB-D,USB-D,NOR,0,0,Packet

Thanks Ant. For my application, I see I need to use SatPC32ISS rather than SatPC32.

Switched to the sat controller a whole ago, but IIRC you need to be in satellite mode on the radio and be able to see both the sub and main bands on the radio. No switching should be necessary as you should have the radio in full duplex mode running one on the RX freq and the other the TX freq.

Thank you Mark and Ant. The video was very helpful.
Now WSJT-X PTT works and the IC-9700 RX tracks the SatPC32 downlink frequency. But how do I have the IC-9700 switch to the SatPC32 uplink frequency on TX?
I see switching from RX to TX using WSJT-X will NOT change to the uplink frequency because SatPC32 doesn't know I switched to TX (i.e., WSJT-X doesn't talk to SatPC32)..
What do I need to do on SatPC32 to have the IC-9700 Tx on the uplink frequency?
For example, if I select the SatPC32 green "RX", it changes to a red "TX" but the IC-9700 doesn't change to the SatPC32 uplink frequency. It remains on the SatPC32 downlink frequency during TX.

Hi Bill,
Maybe this will help?

Not sure if that video leads you to what I’ve done. Get a CI-V interface cable and also use the REMOTE jack on the back (in addition to the USB port). Basically you connect the radio through two different CI-V ports, using one for each program. It works….
Gosh, now that I think about it. If you’re only lacking PTT seems like you can use the two different ports on the USB connection. Set up one for keying. Have done that too.
Sorry I can’t give you more detailed instructions. I often figure it out and then move on ;)

Hi folks,
How can I use these two simultaneously with an IC-9700?
- WSJT-X for PTT control via CAT over USB/COM.
- SatPC32 for frequency control via CAT over USB/COM.
In other words, two apps controlling the IC-9700 simultaneously via CAT over USB/COM when each is performing a different control?
