Hello Guys
I have been encouraging some South American operators to get starting or come back to the birds. I am working on my OSCAR Century Award. Now, I just need three entities more. It has been a great challenge for me! Here, we cannot use AO-7 mode B, 432 MHz is restricted for Hams. FO-29 has been my work horse!
After some researches, I found some potential operators in Uruguay, Chile, Argentina, El Salvador, Guyana, Grenada, Costa Rica and Trinidad & Tobago. Unfortunately, some of them think that satellites are terrible hard to work.
Julien, 9Z4FZ accepted to come back to the birds and we have been trying to complete a contact; we have been very close to complete it but no joy yet. Julien has the gear to work all operational satellites but he has some issues with antennas and he doesn't receive well. He is working on improve his station. He said his satellite interest has resurrected!
I guess, it will be a new grid and new country for a lot of operators. Please, take a time to send an encouraging message to him.
73!

That'd be a nice catch. Hope we can find some info and hear him again.
There is a 6m spot for 9Z4F from last October, but I can't find any other info anywhere either.

Checked qrz and others. Nothing on the new station I heard today: 9z4f. Call comes back as Tridindad/Tobago. Anyone know anything? I was playing with my dongle and wasn't able to get the station reconfigured to come back to him. Strong 5/9 into the bird, 73 de Norm n3ykf _______________________________________________ Sent via AMSAT-BB@amsat.org. Opinions expressed are those of the author. Not an AMSAT-NA member?
