The G5500 control box is now working. I compared the bad transformer with the good one I had on hand. It was pretty obvious that the bad transformer was defective .8 ohms across the primary vs the good ones 8.9 ohms. Soldered the primary side into the assumed working rotor box, wired the primary in and checked the 26v and 16v secondary's . All's good. Soldered them in and powered up the rotor all good. I then connected the AZ and EL cables and all was working. I hooked it up to the LVBTracker box, and found the setup is in need of a calibration. So as we type I'm operating on IO-117 using the controls on the box to track the satand just worked an LU. I decided to swap out the box I was working on as I wasn't sure what other mods were done to it besides the 12v VR that I assume was done for a long cable run. So now I have a good working box, and a spare metal box, and maybe a spare pair of working meters. Life is again good in KB2M land...
