You will have to fill in an application form on line and wait for the authorisation but it is worth the trouble.
I applied at space-track several weeks ago and have heard nothing to date. I entered AMSAT-NA for the required "organization," but that was a guess. I did check Ham Radio Operator. For now, I'm satisfied with Orbitron updates via celestrak.
