The smoke particles are much smaller than the VHF/UHF wavelengths we use on most satellites; so the smoke shouldn't be a problem.

Oregon is currently under a Huge Smoke Cloud from forest fires.(pretty much the entire State). Here is So Oregon, visibility is 1/2 mile and ceiling at the airport is 2200. Ash particulate is falling and visible to the eye.
Do these conditions impact satellite contacts, LEO or otherwise?
