An International Space Station school contact has been planned with participants at European High School - Brindisi, Brindisi, Italy and I.I.S.S. "Majorana - Laterza", Putignano, Italy on 13 Nov. The event is scheduled to begin at approximately 09:18 UTC. It is recommended that you start listening approximately 10 minutes before this time. The duration of the contact is approximately 9 minutes and 30 seconds. The contact will be a telebridge between NA1SS and K6DUE. The contact should be audible over the east coast of the U.S. Interested parties are invited to listen in on the 145.80 MHz downlink. The contact is expected to be conducted in Italian.
Stories:
European High School - Brindisi

that allows for understanding and interpreting complexities of the
past, present, and their future relationships.
- characterizing the educational system in a European key, making it
possible to promote mobility.
I.I.S.S. "Majorana - Laterza"
Liceo "Majorana-Laterza" is a mixed school, with approximately 1,000 students aged 14 to 19. It offers four specializations:
?LICEO CLASSICO, which focuses on classical studies and humanities.
?LICEO SCIENTIFICO, which explores the links between humanities
and scientific knowledge.
?LICEO SCIENTIFICO - APPLIED SCIENCES, which offers the opportunity to
acquire advanced skills in science and technology,
especially in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry,
Biology, Earth Sciences, Information Technology
and their application.
?LICEO LINGUISTICO, which specializes in modern languages and cultures.
All our students, regardless of their specialization, show a keen interest in science, as demonstrated by the fact that every year many of them choose to attend university faculties in the field of scientific studies, especially Engineering (including Aerospace Engineering) and Physics. Age 14-19.
Participants will ask as many of the following questions as time allows:
cambiamento climatico oltre a usare fonti energetiche rinnovabili?
particolari microbi nell'esperimento BioRock?
16. Quale attività umane contribuiscono al riscaldamento globale?
17. Grazie all'esperimento Grip, vi sono state delle innovazioni a
livello delle costruzioni delle protesi?
future?
Translated:
1. Are you thinking of modifying human cells to create human beings
biologically fit for survival on other planets?
2. Apart from using renewable resources, is there anything else that we
can do to avoid this climate change?
3. How does the psychological preparation of astronauts take place
before a mission?
4. What energy of the future should be used? Do you think the sun is
the only energy that should be used?
5. What type of pollution could space tourism produce in our region?
6. Are the consequences of climate change different for each country?
In your opinion which parts of the world is / are more affected?
7. Why was Grottaglie chosen as a place to build the spaceport?
8. Is it too late to prevent climate change?
9. If the studies on tumor cells in the microgravity were to be
positive, how could this condition be recreated on Earth and making
it available also for the most disadvantaged people?
10. Is it possible to see the CO2 emission from the space?
11. In the space station and more generally in Space, how are you
contributing to the scientific progress regarding the study of
quarks?

the space?
13. What would be the advantages of understanding the behavior
particular microbes in the BioRock experiment?
14. How do you deal with the plastic in the space?

possible to understand how and in what way space radiation is
actually dangerous?

About ARISS
Amateur Radio on the International Space Station (ARISS) is a cooperative venture of international amateur radio societies and the space agencies that support the International Space Station (ISS). In the United States, sponsors are the Radio Amateur Satellite Corporation (AMSAT), the American Radio Relay League (ARRL), the ISS National Lab and National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). The primary goal of ARISS is to promote exploration of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) topics by organizing scheduled contacts via amateur radio between crew members aboard the ISS and students in classrooms or public forms. Before and during these radio contacts, students, educators, parents, and communities learn about space, space technologies, and amateur radio. For more information, see www.ariss.org.
