Hi Brian,

I would choose RHCP on VHF in case you want to receive NOAA APT, and LHCP on UHF so that it's cross polarized with VHF, to minimize cross-talk and desense.

Most of the amateur satellites are linearly polarized, so RHCP vs. LHCP won't make a difference for those. You'll have about +1 dBi maximum gain for all cases.

It wouldn't be my first choice for working satellites, but of course it depends on what application you have in mind.
