[amsat-bb] 1979-09-01: Pioneer 11 Flies By Saturn

It was the first spacecraft to reach Saturn.

As I remember, the observations it made indicated more details in the ring structure than could be observed by ground-based telescopes. That was confirmed over a year later by Voyager 1.
