Sat Radios: good quesiton, do not know of any in production. i use the Yaesu FT-736R for 6,2,440 and 1.2ghz.
Antennas: M2 antennas, the 22 element CP for 2-meters and the 44 element CP for 440
Rotor: Kenpro 550
Mast: AIN plastices in norwood mass, Sold fiberglass 1.5 inches. $200-300 for a 20 foot section.
Coax: LMR-600SF (super flex, can go around rotors, aprox size .75 inches, much lower loss than "ALL" RG-8 style 0.405 coax cables. It does cost more than thinner coax, but you will only install it once and it will last 20+ years. Also you can forget about calcuating coax losses below 1.2 ghz, because its not a factor any more.
In-Shack Amps: For 2 / 440 i use TE-Systems. on 2-meters you have selections from 100 to 400 warts. i got 10 years of regular usage out of a 400 wart brick until it took a lightning strike. i replaced it with the same models. Strap.

Hello to the list. I have a chance to put a satellite station in our new state eoc. I have to get a list of equipment together so it can be sent out for bids. My question is what radio currently available can do 38.4k speed digital right out of the box or with simple mods? Also what selection of 2m, 70cm and 1.2ghz antennas and pre-amps would give us the best performance for the sats up now and the sats that are planned? Thanks Mike kb5wbh Ar State RACES Officer
