Just as a side note here for those stuck on Windows needing basic Unix/Linux functionality in command line and X it’s useful to have mobaXterm installed.

Hi Andy, No, skip that part and scroll down to 'Cloning an Existing Repository'. I'm not sure what you mean by not being able to find the command line. You do need to have Git installed, and how you do that will depend on which OS you're using. There are some GUI versions of Git around, but I've never used any of them, so can't advise you there. Hope you can get farther! Martin.KD6YAM On Thu, Aug 9, 2018 at 7:45 AM, andy thomas andythomasmail@yahoo.co.uk wrote:
Alas! I cannot do it. It is alien to me. : "If you’re starting to track an existing project in Git, you need to go to the project’s directory. "I have no idea where this is and cannot find the command line.
So it's not for me!
But thank you for the advice anyhow. It will benefit someone on the -bb.

Hi Andy, If you just want to grab the source, you can just clone to your local machine using 'git clone'. See 'Cloning an Existing Repository' here: https://git-scm.com/book/en/ v1/Git-Basics-Getting-a-Git- Repository
If you want to be able to contribute back changes, though, you'll want to fork the repo and work from there. See: https://guides.github.com/ activities/forking/
It's pretty straightforward, if a little different from other source control systems like Subversion. Feel free to ask if you have questions. Martin.KD6YAM On Thu, Aug 9, 2018 at 7:23 AM, andy thomas via AMSAT-BB amsat-bb@amsat.org wrote:
