Sorry to disappoint you.
At this point AMSAT-DL has not been able to secure any funding to secure a launch (not even from their own government) and the rant against cubesats at the UK colloquium by has only hurt them even more.
Unless this community learns to work together and sees the benefits in all satellite programs and supports each other, we are only hurting ourselves. Why is so difficult to understand?

Hi Bruce,KK5DO
AMSAT-DL is working very hard on P3-E and P5-A and in the near future they will be able to launch P3-E
Work on P3-E is continuing and AMSAT-DL is busy looking for launch possibilities and other ways for financing it, i.e. on coat-tails of the P5 Mars Mission.
Indeed, P3-E is not a dream but a reality and AMSAT-DL need the support of the community.
There will only a P3-E, if we all really want it..
If you want to support P3-E, than please visit http://www.p3e-satellite.org/?lang=en_EN and make a direct donation to the project - THANKS!

i think i have a bunch of ao40 qso's on my website. http://www.amsatnet.com/audio.html
problem is you are dreaming of reliving a time in history when we were fortunate to have launches that were reasonably priced. today, we take what is free and if that means proliferation of cubesats and nonosats so be it.
if you are willing to pay for a heo launch, let your favorite amsat know and they will construct a heo for you to launch.
otherwise you should stop hampering the dreams and aspirations of those building launchable satellites today. history might repeat itself but not without a lot of money.

Hi Peter,NH6VB
I believe that Stefan,VE4NSA never worked or was listening on a HEO othervise he will be not in favour only on the Cubesat and I am sure he will pull also like me and many others for P3E
To give Stefan a demonstration of what I am stating I have sent to all of you a WAV file 3 minutes long with a QSO via AO40 in wich we are three of us (IW2ERR-i5UXJ and i8CVS) talking like into a telephone without QSB or QRM and nice audio quality for hours much better than in 20 meters because we can interrupt each other at the same time.
Sorry the QSO is in italian but it is sufficient to say that if Stefan ever worked a HEO he have missed a lot.
Also sorry that my message to Peter,NH6VB including the WAV file bounced back to me.

Thanks,
I am glad you favour HEOs. Good for you. At least the cubesat community does not bash and discriminate against your favourite satellite system. Any university and organization that puts up a cubesat is a winner for me. They are fun, challenging and use the spectrum. More power to them. I am glad AMSAT is moving along with Fox. Feel free to support the HEOs. My money is on the Cubesats.

Thank you!!!!
I am so sick and tired of bashing the cubesat community. At least they are putting satellites in orbit and they ARE licensed radio amateurs with the same access to the spectrum as all of us!
