Peter,
I forgot two important adds about selecting the 9700 and the correct Baudrate which ARE described well: http://www.dk1tb.de/IC9700_settings.htm
I use the USB settings and they work as advertised. Some folks say the C-IV setup works more reliably, but I have not seen a difference except that the USB speed is more lively.
Not my best day to concentrate... Jack - KD4IZ

Peter,
I had the same problem until I looked back through the general documentation. Was not clear in the 9700 setup instructions.
When you bring up the radio setup it comes up showing "Model" in the top pull down field next to "Radio 1". Select Icom radio button, then you need to click on that pull down field and select the third choice which is "Addresses" it should show "$A2 $A2" in the pull down field just below. If not, you can activate the pulldown and select the correct one or adjust each field using the "up/down" arrows beneath each address that is shown.
Hope that makes sense.

I'm confused, the address for my radio is A2h but the choices inside Satpc32are nothing like that. What am I missing? Also, how can you confirm the program and radio are communicating? How can I force the program to do something to the radio and thus show me that they arein contact with one another? I've turned on CAT and it goes plus without anerror but that's not enough THanksPeterW2PP _______________________________________________ Sent via AMSAT-BB@amsat.org.
