I worked 2 passes earlier today using my IC-910 and putting 5 W into my Arrow yagi.
The first had a high elevation and I was able to reach the bird once it came from behind my building. The signal was good until about a minute after TCA when it became harder to hear. I don't think that was due to an adjacent tower in my apartment complex.
The second one had a maximum elevation of about 10 degrees. I'm not sure I heard my downlink but, if I did, it was very weak and down in the noise, even though there were few obstructions.
I noticed something similar during the pass I monitored early morning UTC yesterday (i. e., Tuesday evening local time). The signal varied in quality as the satellite approached the horizon close to LOS.
