I really don't think an apology is necessary...when you consider your compensation for doing this. I would wait for a "raise" before I started taking too much criticism seriously.

ANS. However, I had to replace my router shortly before leaving for the symposium and discovered the new one from Linksys wouldn't run my VPN software. The result was that I tried using my ISPs webmail interface to get the news out from my hotel room. It looked OK here but obviously did not work as well as I'd hoped. I'll take it as a good lesson for the future that if my VPN connection is down, I'll need to have one of the other ANS Editors send out the final copy.
