Looks like an interesting project, although the price of the kit is a bit more than I'd like to pay for what I'd be using it for: talking to AO-92 on L-band.
I've been looking into something like a varactor-tuned frequency tripler, as shown a bit over half-way down this web page: http://www.sydneystormcity.com/microwave.htm The schematic is here: http://www.sydneystormcity.com/1296%20Tripler.gif It may not be an ideal solution but considering how often the L-band experiment will be active on AO-92, I'm looking at a cost-effective solution.

Good day to all. Related to my previous post, please check this link for an interesting NBFM transceiver board for L-band uplinks:

Now I just need to find time!

For those who receive the DKARS magazine, there is a very interesting article. The transceiver described is for ATV, but it looks like like it will tune to the AO-92 uplink frequency. Seems to put out 400mw FM out. I am not able to take time now to review deeper (stealing away from work) but I look forward to parsing through the schematic/links this weekend. I am forwarding this notice for anyone who will be able to get there sooner. I think there is some potential here, and I would like to know other’ opinions.
