Make sure you grabbed the correct version, likely a beta for the newest version of OSX.
Where did you get the USB-B to USB-C cable? It possibly could be a power only cable.
In Terminal, do: ls -l, and see if the device is there. I think it has keyspan in the name but it has been a while since I have looked at one in the Terminal. I can double check when I get to my work computer.
