Battery life is no better because the battery is (generally) smaller although larger batteries are available at a cost.
Other than that, there are no real technical issues, it's a laptop with a small screen/keyboard and an Intel Atom processor.

If someone tested net-book+radio configuration and it runs no problem 100% - I can be convinced that there is no reason to pay more for notebook and carry more weight to some DX country.
