This radio is fantastic, use it for APRS, packet, cluster, FM satellites, GPS display with a cheap GPS "mouse" (Garmin35). If you were UK based there is one for sale on my forum for £300 (UK pounds) including GPS and hands free kit. (not a kenwood one) Belongs to a friend of mine and it is spotless. I have both Kenwoods data radios TMD700E and THD7E handy, wouldn't part with them for anything. Recomended 10 out of 10.

Hello, I am a beginner in packet radio, and am looking for recommendations for a good 2m radio with built in TNC. I have heard good things about the kenwood TM-D700 dual bander. But this radio is no longer listed on kenwood's site. Has it been discontinued?
Anyone else got any recommendations on a good 2m radio for doing packet work to the satellites?
