If you think it may be update related try the "Run as Administrator" option (right click on the desk top icon then <Run as Administrator>. This has been solving a number of issues for me lately, all related to Windows security changes to be in compliance with the new EU privacy laws. It is a long shot but it costs you nothing and if it doesn't fix the problem at least you have discovered one easy thing to do that didn't work.
