Photos were released today of the Kwangmyongsong-3 satellite, planned to be launched from North Korea later this week. The rectangular box satellite appears to have a ~ 400 MHz 1/4 wave antenna on same side as sensors, and possibly Earth Observation (EO) camera. I have seen no data on frequencies to be used for EO camera.
When I saw the first images of the satellite, it reminded me of a Surrey (SSTL) design from a decade ago. IF placed in a polar orbit, it would have a Western hemisphere ascension across eastern Brazil, Western Atlantic, and eastern Canada / Greenland.
