Sadly when I bought mine it did work. Maybe the RCA rotator was a clone of the ChannelMaster.

PstRotator manual mentions a way to work with these cheap TV rotators using a RS232 board. It is described in the PstRotator manual (around page 55)

I have used a RCA rotator. It is on Amazon. You can also use it with USB UIRT and PstRotator. Then, you can have a fully automated rotator setup. It only moves 360 so no elevation adjustments. K3RRR article linked below
