Thanks Alan…I completely forgot about the manufacturer issue. It was a dpl-usb232 cable and DLP Design had a driver…working…yeah!

Are you using a separate USB serial adapter? If so, for many reasons, you may need to go to the manufacturer's site and find an updated driver. More information will be helpful to diagnose the problem.
