But SO-50 needs an initial activation with 74 Hz tone and further access with 67 Hz tone, while AO-27 does not need any of these. Pass timings and directions will be different. Agreed that at some point of time they may overlap and SO-50 could work if someone has already activated it with 74 Hz tone.

I see some reports on the Satellite Status page for AO27.  Is this satellite really back on again, or might these stations be mistaking SO50 for AO27 since they share the same frequencies?
