Thanks for responding, Vince. Your response helps confirm that there's a bug in my radio. I haven't used the memory functions in the '790 in a long time, so doing a reset of either or both types poses no significant loss. I'll give it a shot & let the list know of the outcome. Doppler.sqf was one of the first things Erich had me look at, and then modify as a test to try to make the rig behave differently. The radio didn't behave differently with the modified Doppler.sqf; it still selected LSB Auto at 145.8MHz. during the first Doppler update.
To be clear, it's not a case of the rig going to LSB, but it is a case of the rig going to LSB Auto, as in Auto mode selection based on frequency of operation. This isn't always a problem since some satellites use 2m LSB / 70cm USB, but others use 2m USB or FM / 70cm LSB or FM, or FM / FM uplinking on >145.8MHz, so when SatPC32 sets the 2m frequency correctly during a satellite change & then updates that frequency for Doppler, the rig goes to LSB Auto, regardless of the mode it was in seconds earlier..very annoying!
Thanks, Robin Midgett K4IDC
Hi Robin,
There have been times over the years my TS-790 has had a few hick-ups, doing a reset got things back in order. I don't use the memories in mine either. I may see if I can duplicate the issue you're having on my TS-790 tonight to see why your rig goes into Auto mode.
