Peter,

You'll have to find your Standard.sat file and edit it. You probably have an entry there that is confusing SatPC32, such as a satellite named XW-3(CAS-9), or some other bird the program can't find.

It's a hidden file, so first step is to instruct Windows to show hidden files:
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/view-hidden-files-and-folders-in-windows-97fbc472-c603-9d90-91d0-1166d1d9f4b5

Then navigate to the previously hidden folder:
C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\AppData\Roaming\SatPC32
Note that you will have to replace YOURUSERNAME with your actual Windows User Name!

Scroll down to Standard.sat and open it. You may have to tell Windows to use Notepad or your text editor of choice, because it won't recognize the .sat extension.

Change or delete the offending entry, being careful not to mess up the format of the file. Most likely, you'll be changing something to do with CAS-9 to XW-3. Then do remember to save the file before closing the text editor.

Just to be on the safe side, while you're in there, also find the file named AmsatName.txt and add this line to the bottom, again being careful not to mess up the format of the file:
50466 21131B   XW-3
Save the file, then try opening SatPC32 once again. This last step is not technically necessary, but it can't hurt, especially with a new bird that may still have several names.

Good luck and happy New Year!

If you edit your doppler file, to take out the (CAS9) so it only shows XW-3, then it will match the keps that were updated today, and the error should no longer be present.

However, you will notice that the list of satellites have been duplicated.

Subject: [AMSAT-BB] Problem with SatPC32 and new Bird

I thought I had everything set up for XW-3(CAS-9) perfectly until I went to update the Keps today. After updating Keps (NASAbare) I could not close the window and kept getting a German error message which of course I have no idea what it means. I'll try and attach the message though I suspect it might be stripped.
