can anyone tell me the IP address of Amsat UK?
Their web server www.uk.amsat.org seems to be at 130.88.202.72 at the moment, but you won't be able to access it as http://130.88.202.72 because it's apparently a virtual host.
You could try putting entries for amsat.org, www.amsat.org, and www.uk.amsat.org in your local hosts file. That should be sufficient to bypass any DNS problems. If you google on "hosts file" you can find instructions on exactly how to do this.
The reason I ask is because the DNS Server that both Amsat-NA and Amsat-UK go through in California has my ISP Host Name rejected for some reason and has been this way for some time.
Not the case as far as we know, but this isn't the first report I've heard of it looking that way.
The DNS server in California I believe belongs to the Defence Dept'.
Not for some time now. The DNS servers are both at UCSD, hamradio.ucsd.edu and ns1.ucsd.edu. Either of which report that www.uk.amsat.org is a CNAME alias for amsat.mcc.ac.uk, which resolves to 130.88.202.72.
Unfortunately you can't just use the name amsat.mcc.ac.uk either. Apparently the virtual host isn't configured to respond to that name, just to www.uk.amsat.org.
