Bob, the developer responded. I thought i had done what he suggests, but apparantly not. Regardless, it's now working.

Good day to you Rick!

Basically, when you're done with the selection you just press the "Play" button, it saves your satellites selection and takes you to the passes screen while also calculating the passes for selected satellites. One thing to point out is that it calculates passes using the passes preferences like Hours Ahead and Minimal Elevation that you can change in Settings screen.
Also the app preserves your selection on the TLE update, so you should not normally loose your selection in any case.
I tend to update the app from time to time, roughly once a month, so please make sure you're using the latest version.

Kind regards,

Arty Bishop

Rick,

First, I set my position from GPS data.
Second, I set Hours Ahead to 24
Third, I set Min Elevation to 15
Fourth, I found each SAT I wanted and checked them
Lastly, I went to Passes and all the upcoming ones were there
in chronological order for the next 24 hours

It worked for me the first time I tried.

Bob,

I tried both ways, it only save Ao-27 and AO-73, everything else did not save. I guess I'll see what the developer says

Hi Rick,

Either scroll down the list of SATs and check the ones
you want. Or, search each SAT and check it when it
comes up. It stores the ones you check until you
uncheck it.

Bob, I downloaded it and so far, not overly impressed. Spent 20 minutes selecting the satellites I want to track, the move to the tracking screen to find my selections have not been save. No help file. I've tried at least three times with the same result. I did email the developer, so hopefully. He will respond and clue me in. If I can't get it to hold my selections, I'll delete it.

If you've figured it out. Please point me in the correct direction.

Subject: [AMSAT-BB] Android SAT Tracker

I've been happy using AMSATDROID-Free for several years. My only
complaint has been needing to scroll through a long list of SATs that
are meaningless to me to find the one I want.

But, I just discovered a new one (to me) that has many features that are
much more useful and easier to operate with a better display. The listing
of upcoming SAT passes is very much like WinAOS. The AOS time
countdown and the view of the moving realtime footprint is very helpful.

There is a seemingly endless list of SATs that can be selected, but you can
choose ONLY the ones you are interested in and they will be the only ones
tracked and displayed just like WinAOS.

It is going to be the SAT App that I'll be using on my phone from now on!!

P.S.  It's free, but there is a way to show your appreciation.
