Estonian Radio Amateurs now have an allocation at 3400-3401 MHz. They can run 20dBW at antenna elevations below 10 degrees and 30dBW at elevations above 10 degrees. This is the same as for their 13cm allocation.
This is welcome news and must increase the chances of getting a 3400 MHz Amateur Satellite Service allocation in ITU Region 1.
It would be helpful if Amateurs/Societies in Region 1 countries without an existing allocation could press their regulator for access to 3400 MHz.
A map of CEPT countries with a 3400 MHz Amateur Radio Service allocation can be seen at: http://www.microwavers.org/3400mhz.htm
The Radio Society of Great Britain (RSGB) in its response to the WRC-12 consultation requested the UK communications regulator Ofcom to consider an allocation of 3400-3410 MHz for the Amateur Satellite Service in ITU Region 1, see http://www.southgatearc.org/news/march2010/rsgb_wrc12_response.htm
