Earlier today I caught a nice, high elevation pass on SO50. There was a posting a while ago suggesting that switching to FM-Narrow helps to get around the SO50/AO27 birdie on the radio and I can confirm that it works! I got on just before mid pass but was able to copy SO50 during the rest of the pass, even when the downlink was right on 436.800. For those of you wanting to do AO27 and SO50 with the Kenwood TS2000 give the FM Narrow mode a try, you will be surprised. My downlink antenna (as well as my uplink antenna) is a Cushcraft A270-10S dualband yagi with no elevation, no preamp, and horizontally polarized. Now if I can just get the SWR problem fixed on 2m.....
