I read it as CW will be running split only if there is a need run split, not that CW would only be used if needed. But either way, what is the big deal since this is a hobby for all to enjoy?

To be honest with you the 99th Anniversary of the Titanic Disaster should be made only on CW and not "if need" On board of Titanic there was only a CW spark transmitter.
