Easily the most handy thing I've put on my Ubuntu linux system is the Pulse Audio Volume Control utility. It provides a GUI to easily control what audio device each app plays OUT to, as well as what audio device some other app records FROM. So, it's very straightforward to route the audio to suit any need you might have when you want to do something like send your SDR audio to an SSTV decoder or in this case, the FoxTelem app.
(Tip: you'll normally want to record from the "monitor" of your audio device... you'll see it on the drop-down)
(Tip #2: you won't see an app in the utility until it's actually playing or recording)
To install: sudo apt-get install pavucontrol
... and to run it: pavucontrol
Of course, I use it so much that once it's running, I right-click the icon to "Lock to Launcher" so that I can run it the next time with just a click.
