Not sure what you mean by "needs the predict name", but that line is straight from my /etc/services file. There are also two other lines for port 1210 for "eoss", one for tcp, and the other udp, on my system, (which is OpenSuSE 10.3).

that record needs the predict name, as some Linux systems include 1210/ udp with another name.
