Joe,

That should work fine. RT Systems even advertises the cable as "Programming/CAT”. While the site does say that the drivers are installed with the programming software, they also have the link to the driver-only download on the product page. I’ve used an RT Systems cable that was designed to program radios with Icom CI-V for satellite control (of Icom radios, of course) with no issues. I didn’t even need drivers, but I was on Linux and didn’t try on Windows.

Hi, Everyone.  I’m relatively new to satellites, so my questions are pretty basic.  I just purchased a new laptop running Windows 11, and will use it to run SatPC32 to control a Yaesu FT897D and a Yaesu FT857D for duplex operation.  Are the USB-62C cables from RTSystems the right choice for this?  Also, do I need to purchase the ADMS-4B software package to install the right drivers?  I’ll probably never use most of its features.

I’ve been a ham since I was in 8th grade, but that was in 1958, and I’ve only recently returned to the hobby.  As you might expect, I’m “digitally-challenged.”  Thanks for any information you can offer.
