Most E Mail programs allow you to organize messages also.

My primary reason is that I receive E-Mails from around 60 E-Mail lists. Some are quite active and some go weeks without any messages. I can guarantee that I am NOT going to go to 60 different forums several times per day to see if there is something interesting to read. E-Mail lists may not be the best solution, but they don't require massive effort to go get the information. With some E-Mail sorting in your E-Mail client, it is pretty easy to organize messages from an E-Mail list.
