Also, there is a Federal law that states they have to make allowances for you to receive TV signals. If they do not provide free of charge cable or some form of method for you to receive television signals, you are are allowed by law to put up an antenna to receive tv signals. This will work for vhf/uhf but you won't be able to get away with a TH-7 hf beam for example. That method has been used a lot it my area and the associations cannot do a thing about it since it is protected by Federal law. You may want to consider that direction. If asked to do so, you can show that these antennas do indeed pick up TV signals since they are in the TV band limits (although narrow). I have even used mine on occasion to receive TV signals. Just another thought on this issue.
Best of luck.

Steve,
By looking at the pictures on your website, the antennas are on the ground and not permanently affixed on the house. You might try mounting them to a small trailer and go mobile. Hi hi
I have not seen your write-up yet so I might be speaking prematurely but, how can a HOA restrict what you have on the ground inside of your backyard? Also one other thought you might think of is contacting a ARRL VC and discuss it with them. http://www.arrl.org/FandES/field/regulations/local/vci.html?ctype=2&stat... &lname=&myaction=Search+By+Appointee+State
I would not give up so easily on your station. Maybe some education and discussion with the HOA Board might also go a long way.

Some how I knew the day would come when I would get a letter from my home owner’s assn. speaking of issues with my antennas. That day has unfortunately come. I will write more about it on my web page in detail, however this not a total loss as I now look into local clubs and operating events to get my R.F. thrill. The YL was actually quite sad for me as she too knows the enjoyment I shared with her and the kids as they listened to many, many satellite passes as I operated. I am surprisingly calm about this and looking forward to building another station @ a better location eventually.
I would like to personally thank each and every one of you whom have enlightened me and welcomed me into the satellite community, your correspondence has been extremely educational and informative and without all the input I had personally received it would not have been as much of a pleasure meeting and learning as well as operating the various satellites amongst my peers.
For those whom don’t know me personally all is not lost for me, as I am quite young and I don’t plan on living in my current location forever, that is the next goal outside of the radio fun is to get a radio friendly community and altitude with great schools for the kids. (Might be hard to find that one hihi)
As mentioned in the subject of this email I am selling the station as a whole. I have NOT listed the station on EBAY as I would prefer to sell it to some one on the BB I also unfortunately do NOT desire to ship any of this equipment anywhere as I would Like to meet the person giving it all a new home.
