[amsat-bb] what's the best choice for my next HAM PC?

My current 'main' PC is about 10 years old now, and is getting slow

(Medion Desktop, 10 yr old P4/3 GHz/2.5 GB with Win XP).

I would like to have your inputs on what the next one should be.

For all kinds of reasons, I want to keep Windows as the O/S.

Plus I assume I will slowly upgrade from 2 to 3 monitors.

Taking into account the future will bring

- more SDR

- more Spectran/Spectrum/WSJT like SW

- more need to run multiple programs simultanious

Should I go for an i3, i5 or i7 processor?

What is the best way to still have (via USB?) serial connectors?

Any other topics to consider?
