Hello Cathryn,
I have been using a USB and CAT interface purchased off eBay, that is from www.xggcomms.com It isn't cheap (like $70), but it is mostly plug and play--USB connection provides sound card and COM port, and cabling. Here is why I say "mostly" plug and play: I had to open up the box and bypass the audio so it would work properly on the Fox satellites for telemetry; as shipped the low frequency audio needed for Fox telemetry wasn't making it to the PC, it was being filtered out. I honestly forget---I think I just lifted a wire and resoldered to bypass an audio transformer....
Anyhow, I currently use the above interface with a TS-2000x for both Fox satellite telemetry and 9600 baud packet on Falconsat-3. Nice device and I'm satisfied--you might explore.

Trying to figure out the hardware side. Maybe wiring the ports on that 13 pin connector on the TS2000 directly to a USB sound card, PTT to a USB serial card port, and then using a USB ground isolation dongle to separate grounds? Seems like that would work. Worst for me is soldering those connectors.

How are people decoding telemetry and packet these days?
Found some software that looks like it'd work, but curious, what software, cable/interface the 'cool people' are using. I have TS-2000 and Windows.
