Yes, it is a lot of practice, I was using one of these Malahit-type SDRs to listen to the return signal and I was achieving it, I have been a little away due to work and family occupations. Keep practicing, you'll definitely get better at it.

I run dual Yaesu 817's with an arrow handheld antenna. I have no problem using the PBR cheat sheet for finding myself when I'm calling CQ on RS-44 using the UP/Downlink Frequency . Searching and pouncing is proving to be more difficult in finding myself. Any tips? I'll look on the chart and estimate where I should be based on the time of the pass, but for some reason I can't seem to locate myself, I guess it just takes practice....
