Jim, I have been using my Kenwood 2000X with the birds since 2010 when I bought it. Never had a problem staying with the birds and correcting the Doppler shift automatically. When you say sync, do you mean moving antennas or the Doppler shift? Are you using a decent USB converter to go between the rear of your radio and the USB port on your computer? Many of those are junk. There are several people using this radio on the birds. They also have it move their antennas without a problem. Rick WB3CSY

Another question for a new setup. I have had this TS2000 for many years and just getting things setup for a new station. I have been trying to get it working so it will track with the birds. The computer and the radio do talk to each other, however they don't seem to keep syn very well. Has anyone else had similar issues? If so what was the fix?
Now the other question is also, should I be looking at a different radio for better responses and general operation of these modes for the birds and the software.
I have had this radio for many years and have update the firmware to the lastest that was listed on the Kenwood website as of this last week. Getting that done took a little bit, had to get a old windows 7 box setup along enough to upload the firmware.
So all in all is this a normal tracking issue with the Kenwood and Icom or just with the Kenwood?
Thank you for you help.
