On a somewhat related note I'm contemplating trying some portable sattelite operation on FO29 and VO52 with my Icom 706 and a laptop running SAT32PC for doppler shift controll.
Any one have any thoughts as to how successfull this will be (I have yet to purchase the needed module to computer controll my Icom 706.) I am aware that the Icom 706 is not full duplex and have made numerous contacts on these two birds using either separate radios or an FT 736.
I'll probably just try this at some point but any comments would be great.

SatPC32 works great, and will control both of those radios together or one at a time. Call Martha at the AMSAT office or get it from http://www.amsat-na.com/store/category.php?c=Software . There is a discount if you sign up as a member at the same time too!

Hi Guys, Thanks for all the contacts so far. I am new and an getting the hang of working the various modes and splits. I am curious if there is a rig control program for the IC-706mkiig that does the doppler correction for both up and downlink frequencies.
I have been using HRD but I can only get it to control one VFO at a time. I have tried both the new beta version and the older standard and I just can't get it to work. I know the 706 is not really a satellite rig but I have been using it and my 275H together to make 40 or so contacts so far.
Now I have come up on the AO-07 and really need both controlled. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks Joe KI4TZ
