If your rotator does not have any proper position feedback you may be able to add a potentiometer inside it.

You then can build a computer interface to control it based on the feedback.
However for now I would recommend just manually adjusting the rotator. If the beam width of the antenna is wide then pointing will not be too critical, and when the satellite is overhead the signal is much stronger.
In the real world you may not need a computer interface, but you will need some sort of tracking software to tell you which way to point and which satellite is passing over. SATPC32 is recommended for its advanced features, but Orbitron is better for beginners.
