[amsat-bb] AMSAT Preamp Question

Will the preamp, being sold by AMSAT, suffer any degradation in performance id operated on a 9 volt battery?  If yes, how much?  I would like to make it a stand alone preamp by putting a 9 volt battery on the side of it.
