And more than that .. the perfect platform to build apps for that promote ham radio in variously subtle ways.
(Imagining an inexpensive kit-buildable transceiver that plugs into an OLPC, with free downloadable software custom tailored to it, targeting PSK31 or other common narrowband digital modes .. :D )

The way I see it:
- Goal is $100 laptop
- Runs under Linux
- Excellent visibility in bright sun
- Runs Display uses only 0.1W in sun
- Can be charged by solar power
- built-in 802.11 wireless plus automatic MESHING with others
- Targeted at youth worldwide...
And on and on...
Seems the perfect platform for HAM radio!
