Thanks to everyone mentioned and to all those who contributed their might to realise this mega event of the time. MIR itself was truly an amazing achievement and SSTV from MIR was a new, challenging and interesting dimension of Amateur Radio from Space.

Today December 12, 2014 marks the 16th year anniversary of the historic and very successful event of receiving live SSTV pictures from the Mir Space Station. On December 12, 1998 the 1st pictures were received on Earth and continued through April 2000 consisting of several hundreds of exciting images of the crew, space and of the Earth. Many of the pictures as catalogued by Marexmg.org may be viewed at:

Pictures were created by a small SSTV System developed through the efforts of several Amateur Radio Operators including Don Miller, W9NTP, Hank Cantrell, W4HTB, Farrell Winder, W8ZCF, Miles Mann, WF1F, David Larsen, N6CO and Sergej Samburov, RV3DR. Mir was deorbited in March, 2001.
