European open http sites are notoriously insecure.
Any http site is insecure, no need to insult my region here.
once you have switched to HTTPS with a valid certificate, firefox will remember that and will not use http as long as that site is using https.
so clicking on Daniels link may trigger the problem for others. *don't*
