Remember, just because you are interested in grid square chasing or DXing, not everybody is. There are people who could not care less about a rare grid square, state, or DX station. What they want to do is say Hi to their friends. Same thing with contests. To people who are not involved in whatever contest is happening are often annoyed at all the contest operators taking over the entire band for their contest. Of course this discussion applies to far more than just FM satellite operation.

This is especially puzzling when there are rare DX and special event stations on. I was on a pass last night where there were both, yet the everyday folks were stepping on them and calling one another instead.
