I would not be a fan if the email list was removed in lieu of chat. They coexist well in many venues. Email is good for some things, chat is good for other things.
I was going to suggest Discord too, but A.) it's already been suggested B.) it's already been found at fault for something C.) I see that someone else already started a Discord AMSAT server ( https://signal-lounge.com/2020/05/23/new-discord-server-for-amateur-satellit...) (although the link is invalid).
