I use PVC water resistant junction boxes that have a gasket on the lid. They make them in a bunch of sizes, but here is an example: https://www.amazon.com/Thomas-Betts-E989NCAR-8X8X4-JUNCTION/dp/B00JV3F1LU/
These make a good starting point. You'd want to add a drain hose and some water-resistant cable entry/strain relief fitting to the bottom.
