SDX is a method to implement the linear transponder. Your old mode B equipment will work just fine. SSB, CW, etc. will all work just fine. If SDX lives up to our expectations, it will be the best of these HELAPS based transponders we have flown.

What is the current status for 3400-3410 in Italy? Can you use it as a earth to space band?
Bob
Hi Bob
Unfortunately in Italy 3400-3410 MHz cannot be used at all by
radioamateurs
because 3400-3600 MHz is for military radiolocation and military earth to space service.
You can dowload the IARU bandplan allowed in Italy at
http://www.ari.it/vhf/bandplan.pdf
and you will see that the above band is clipped.
By the way in a previous message this morning in BB you writes :
"The P3E team would like to include the SDX and we all think we could get a great Mode B transponder out of this."
I woul like to know from you if for B transponder on P3E I can use my old home made CW/SSB TX/RX as used for OSCAR-13 with no DSP at all or if I have to switch to something new.
Please let me know.
