Hi Eric,
For the downlink on 70cm why not have a look at the paraistic Lindenblad design by Anthony Monteiro AA2TX. Its small and neat, excellent omni performance and has been "on air tested" with good results on all sats.
Much easier to construct than a true Lindenblad, I have built both types.
